Want To Sell? Don’t Buy That Domain Without A Plan
Domain speculators and developers should always (and I do mean, always!) abide by a simple rule: never, ever purchase any domain without a clear plan as to how you intend to develop or sell it down the road. Never.
Don’t jump on a bandwagon just because you feel it’s parked in front of your house and it’s about to leave. Don’t buy on impulse. Buy smart and know what you’re buying and why.
The reason is simple: you can’t reasonably expect to develop or sell a domain you’re not knowledgable and passionate about. Ever heard the expression “Sell the sizzle, not the steak”? It applies very strongly to the domain market. You need to be able to talk up your domain intelligently and with a fervor that matches how you feel about it’s potential.
Soldiers (ideally) don’t go into battle without an exit plan and neither should a domain developer/speculator. Don’t get caught lying out on the investment battlefield. Buy with a plan. Always!
